18 Days Uganda Safari Tour

18 Days Uganda safari starts off with adventure sports taking you to Jinja for white water rafting procceded by Rock abseiling and hiking at Sipi falls- Other activities on this adventure safari include game drives, boat trips, primate tracking , nature walks and community visits.

Day 1: Jinja tour

After breakfast embark on a tour to Jinja with an enroute stop over at Ssezibwa falls said to have been delivered by a woman, one “Nakangu” and are said to be twins; an important cultural site for the Buganda kingdom. Tour a couple of caves and shrines onsite where the locals go to pray for blessings and wealth.
Next stop will be Mabira forest Ecotourism site. Inspect important tree species with an onsite guide explaining medicinal properties. Have a nature walk in the forest to view monkeys and birds.
After a sumptuous lunch at the Mabira Rain Forest lodge then drive to the source of the Nile. Take a boat ride to the real source of the Nile your last activity today. Dinner and overnight stay at Jinja Nile resort (luxury)/ 2 Friends (Midrange)/ Cool Breeze hotel (budget)

Day 2: White water rafting on the Nile

raftingEnjoy the best grade five rafting in the world celebrated with a barbeque at the end. This activity will cause lots of adrenaline rush as you paddle across the thunderous river nile rapids a a team. Return to hotel/ camp for dinner and overnight stay,.

 

Day 3: Transfer to Kapchorwa

Spend most of the day today transferring to Kapchorwa the home of Sipi falls, a series of 3 water falls on the foothills of Mountain Elgon. Dinner and over night stay Sipi River lodge (luxury)/ Sipi falls resort (budget)

Day 4: Rock Abseiling & Hike to the bottom of Sipi falls

Embark on rock climbing and abseiling today and also take a hike to bottom of Sipi falls, take pictures as you relax close to this beautiful fall.

Day 5: Transfer to Kitgum

Seven hour transfer to Kitgum today as you begin your journey to Kidepo valley.

Day 6: Transfer to Kidepo valley national park

kidepoAfter breakfast drive to Kidepo valley national park. On arrival, check into your lodge where you will have lunch. Have an evening game drive in the park where you may possibly sight Jackson’s hartebeest, elephants, sand grouse, lions and many more. Dinner and overnight stay at Apoka Rest camp, Apoka lodge/ NgaMoru Wilderness camp.

Day 7: Game drive + Cultural experience
Game drives the area that borders southern Sudan and Uganda. This an excellent opportunity to view rare bird species and other wildlife that you may have missed like ostriches, mountain buzzards and many more at the banks of the Kidepo River. You will return to your lodge for lunch after which you will embark on a guided village walk experiencing the Karamijong culture a very interesting experience. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge/ camp

Day 8: Transfer to Murchison falls national park

Today you will spend most of your day driving to Murchison falls National park. Dinner and overnight stay at Paraa safari lodge/ Sambiya River lodge/ Red Chilli rest camp

Day 9: Morning Game drive & Launch cruise

Enjoy agame drive after breakfast with possible sightings of lions, giraffe, Uganda kob, elephants etc. take a break for a light lunch and in the afternoon proceed to encounter the beauty of both Murchison falls and River Nile. On the boat ride you may possibly view king fishers, piac paic, bush shrikes, and lots of wildlife that water on the River banks. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge/ camp

Day 10: Drive to Kibale forest

Have a long drive to Fort portal the home of Kibale forest with a lunch stop over enroute arriving late evening. Accommodation at Primate lodge/ Chimps nest/ Chimpanzee Guest house.

Day 11: Chimp walk and swamp exploration

An opportunity to encounter chimpanzees in their natural habitat in the company of a park ranger. Return to your lodge for lunch then go birding in Bigodi swamp looking out for Green buls, African pitta, crowned eagle and many more will be spotted here. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge/ guest house

Day 12: Drive to Queen Elizabeth national park + evening game drive

chimpsTransfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. Settle into your lodge and have lunch. Later in the evening enjoy a game drive in the crater lakes region. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge/ Hippo Hill camp/ Simba safari camp/

 

Day 13: Game drive & launch cruise

Game drive in the mating grounds after which you will return to your lodge for breakfast and later lunch. Enjoy a boat ride along the Kazinga channel along which you may sight buffaloes, crocodiles as they bask on the river banks, African fish eagle, cormorants and many more. Return to lodge/ camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 14: Primate gorge walk and transfer to Bwindi

Early start with a sumptuous breakfast after which you will have a primate walk in Kyambura gorge viewing different primate species like the common baboon, chimpanzees, vervet monkeys, black and white colobus and many more. After lunch drive to Bwindi through Ishasha region (famous for tree climbing lion). Accommodation and meals at Gorilla Forest Camp (luxury)/ Engagi lodge (Medium range)/ Buhoma community bandas (Budget)/ Nkuringo gorilla camp

Day 15: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi forest

Be at the park headquarters at 8am where you will be allocated a ranger for your allocated group. Enter Bwindi forest in search of the mountain gorillas. This can take you in between 1-6 hours. When you locate the gorillas spend an hour with them. Receive a certificate at the end of this great expedition. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 16: Visit to Lake Bunyonyi

Leave Bwindi and transfer to Kabale home of lake Bunyonyi. Visit the home of Edirisa where an onsite guide will have lots to share about the history and culture of the Bakiga. Day 17: Canoe ride and Batwa community experience

Drive to the banks of Lake Bunyonyi and aboard a traditional canoe to visit the local Batwa. The pygmies will entertain you with a cultural dance and give you an experience of their way of life

Day 18: transfer to Kampala

Your safari ends with a long drive to Kampala with a lunch stop over enroute. Stop over at Kayabwe – equator for photography and souvenir shopping ending your safari.
